Special Projects
The Presteigne Charter commitment to innovation is clearly demonstrated in our dynamic approach to RF solutions. We launched our RF department in 2003, and boosted our expertise with the acquisition of MVS in 2006. Today, we combine multi-channel RF technology with miniature cameras, often developing solutions specifically for each client, and facilitating images from the most challenging locations and environments. We work alongside other broadcasters and with other specialists in the RF field to deliver outstanding coverage. Our newest piece of kit is our HD Mini cam, uniquely developed for Presteigne Charter (click here for the spec sheet).
From a single camera to a full HD system
We can provide everything from a single, standard camera channel or minicams used on top of goals, to a multi-channel HD on board system. We have provided RF solutions in a wide range of contexts, from the Australian version of the karaoke-meets-spelling game show The Singing Bee, now in its third series, to Premier League football coverage. We are experts in the application of on-board cameras and transmitters for sports ranging from motorbike racing to cycling and marathon running.
A streamlined, efficient approach
Our work at the multiple-stadium 2008 UEFA Championships, held in Austria and Switzerland, involved providing eight HD link systems with full telemetry camera control. When UEFA decided to opt for helicopter camera coverage too, we provided a further four HD link systems with electronically-operated antenna actuator arms for optimum coverage. We overcame difficulties associated with pressure on the usual frequency range, and introduced a streamlined, technically-advanced over-fibre receiver system. We were able to dramatically reduce the amount of receive site equipment, and made it far easier to monitor and adjust link performance. This resulted in 100% successful live coverage of the Championships.
